What is LiteSpeed Web Hosting — and why does the web server matter?
Classic shared hosting: you share a server with other customers and manage domains, mailboxes and databases in Plesk. The difference to off-the-shelf hosting sits one level deeper: instead of Apache or nginx, this runs on LiteSpeed Enterprise — a commercial web server that serves PHP applications measurably faster and still understands Apache configurations (.htaccess).
The core piece is LSCache: a page cache built right into the web server. What does LiteSpeed actually get you over Apache or nginx?
For PHP applications like WordPress: noticeably faster delivery and, above all, LSCache — a page cache built into the web server with ready-made CMS plugins. Every web server wins static benchmarks; the difference shows with logged-in users, shopping carts and load spikes. And LiteSpeed stays .htaccess-compatible — existing configurations simply keep working.
How is this different from Plesk Web Hosting?
Same Plesk interface, same backups, same team. The difference is underneath: LiteSpeed Enterprise with LSCache and HTTP/3 instead of the standard web server, plus more guaranteed RAM. If load time matters to you, take LiteSpeed. If not, Plesk Web Hosting saves you a few euros.
Will my WordPress caching plugin keep working?
Yes, but we recommend switching to the official LiteSpeed Cache plugin. It uses the cache in the web server instead of PHP-based workarounds and can do things like ESI that WP Rocket & co. structurally cannot.
Which PHP versions are available?
PHP 8.1 to 8.4, selectable per domain, with the usual extensions. We deliberately do not run older versions here — if your application needs a legacy PHP version, our Plesk Web Hosting is the better fit.
Which PHP extensions are available?
All the usual extensions for CMS, shops, blogs, CRM systems and forums are active — including ionCube Loader, OPcache, mysqli/PDO, GD and Imagick, cURL, intl, mbstring, XML, zip and zlib (gzip). If your application needs something special that is missing: open a ticket, we add it — no extra charge. Brotli compression is handled directly by the LiteSpeed web server.
How many FTP accounts do I get?
Every plan has one main FTP account. From the Pro plan up you can create as many FTP sub-accounts as you like — handy for web designers or staff who should only see one directory. We only accept encrypted FTPS, no unencrypted FTP.
How do the backups work?
Daily and automatic, 7-day archive, stored at a different location. You run the restore yourself in Plesk — single files, databases, or the whole package.
Is traffic really included?
Yes, with no throttling and no extra billing. That means normal website and shop use. If you want to run video streaming or download portals, you need a different product — and we tell you that directly.
Will you move my existing site?
Yes, for a flat €49 via ticket. In most cases the credentials for your old host are all we need — we take over files, databases and mail, test via a preview URL, and then go live.
Can I use email mailboxes?
Yes, unlimited in all plans (IMAP/SMTP with TLS, webmail, spam filter). If email is your main topic — push mail, shared calendars, many users — have a look at our Mailhosting.
How does the included domain work?
Every plan includes one domain — your choice of .de, .com, .net, .info and .eu. Registration and renewal are included for as long as the plan runs. If you cancel, you can take the domain with you (regular transfer) or keep it running. Any additional domain is registered at the prices in the domain price list.
What happens when my project outgrows its plan?
Upgrading to the next plan works without migration and without downtime. And if shared hosting fundamentally gets too tight, we move you internally to a Plesk vServer — domain, data and Plesk configuration stay.
How is billing handled?
In advance, at intervals that differ per plan — Start yearly (€47.88), Pro every six months (€53.94), Power quarterly (€50.97), Max monthly (€27.99). That keeps administration lean and avoids mini-invoices. The minimum term matches the billing interval; the notice period is 7 days before the end of the period.
