Email under your own domain. With push mail, calendars, contacts — and a privacy standard that isn't just printed on the box.
Your own email address under your own domain — the way it should be: push mail to any smartphone, calendars and contacts in sync across all devices, shared family or team calendars. We log as little as possible. What we have to log lives fleetingly in RAM. Your mail is your mail — we make money with hosting, not with your inbox.
What is this?
Mailhosting is email under your own domain (you@your-domain.com), including everything you expect from a modern office suite today: push mail to your smartphone, calendars, contacts, tasks, shared calendars, webmail. But without the AI that reads your mail, and without the trackers that want to know when you open a message.
We run one large, shared mail server on our own hardware in Germany (powered by Mailcow). You install nothing, configure nothing — we set it up, you use it. We handle the DNS entries together with you; MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC are set correctly on the server side.
From the Solo account at €2 a month to a club domain with 100 mailboxes at €29 a month — every plan has the same feature set. The only differences are the number of mailboxes and the storage. No stripped-down entry plans where the good features are missing.
Plans
Hard to beat per mailbox once you need more than two. Every plan comes with the full feature set — no premium surcharge for push mail or calendars.

monthly
Solo and Pro are billed every six months. To keep administrative overhead out of the price, we bill small amounts at longer intervals — that's how the low prices stay low. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies to all plans. Pay the monthly-billed plans (Family and up) yearly and you get up to a 10% discount. All prices include 19% German VAT. This product is additionally governed by our Mail service agreement. Bringing your own domain or registering a new one? Prices are in the domain price list.
Killer features
From push mail on your iPhone to a shared family calendar, from minimal logging to temporary throwaway addresses. All of it in every plan, no forced premium tier.
IMAP keeps your mailboxes in sync on iPhone, Android and desktop; CalDAV and CardDAV bring calendars and contacts to all devices. This is exactly what other providers sell as paid “premium” packages.
Full groupware: CalDAV calendars, CardDAV address book, tasks with due dates. Syncs natively with iPhone, Mac, Outlook, Thunderbird, Android — no third-party app needed.
One family calendar for all appointments: mom enters the dentist appointment, everyone sees it. The club board shares the meeting calendar with its members. Fine-grained permissions per calendar — read, write, manage.
Our mail server logs as little as possible. Traffic logs live fleetingly in RAM and are never stored persistently. In concrete terms: we can't fish through old mail logs, because they don't exist. Mailbox contents sit on encrypted storage, of course — the mail itself is supposed to arrive.
The four pillars of modern mail authentication — all configured correctly from day one. We sign your mail cryptographically so receiving servers recognize it as genuine. Your reputation grows instead of your mail landing in the spam folder.
Multi-stage filter with Bayes self-learning, greylisting, DNSBL checks, DMARC validation, URL reputation. The filter learns your preferences per mailbox. A quarantine area for borderline cases — you decide what counts as spam.
Every mail client (iPhone, Mac Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird) gets its own password. Lose your phone, revoke that one password — everything else keeps running. Plus: 2FA for the webmail login (TOTP, U2F, WebAuthn).
Need an address for a single sign-up? Generate temporary aliases that expire automatically after 24 hours or 30 days. Spam protection and newsletter-tracking avoidance in one click.
On the Family, Team and Club plans you manage your domain yourself: create mailboxes, maintain aliases, set passwords. A dedicated UI for domain admins — nothing technical, everything in one interface.
Coming from another provider? The mailbox backend includes a free IMAP migration tool: enter your credentials at the old provider, the sync runs in the background, no data loss. Contacts and calendars come over via export/import. If you'd rather have us do it, we take over the complete migration as a paid option billed by effort — and we always assist with the DNS switch on request, so no mail gets lost when you change providers.
From the Family plan up, we register a .de domain for you. Already have one? Keep it — we connect it. Need a new one? We search, register and set it up, without you having to deal with a domain registrar.
Even on the Solo plan. No stripped-down starter package, no artificial limits.
Plain talk
Some things you'll find at volume providers, but not here — on purpose:
Who uses this
From a one-person business to a small company — Mailhosting works in every setup.
Solo or Pro
You have a domain, you want a serious address (`mike@your-company.com`) and no @gmail stopgap. Push mail to your phone, a calendar shared with your accountant, out-of-office on vacation — all included.
Family
One domain for the whole family (`firstname@smith-family.com`), a shared family calendar for school holidays, birthdays, doctor's appointments. Parents can manage the kids' sub-mailboxes. And the .de domain is already part of the plan.
Club
Up to 100 member mailboxes under one club domain. Board addresses like `chair@`, `treasurer@`, `info@` plus personal addresses for active members. A shared board calendar for meetings, shared address books for member management.
Team or Business
Up to 25 or unlimited staff mailboxes. In sync on all devices, shared team calendars, resource booking for meeting rooms. A privacy standard fit for professions bound to confidentiality.
all plans
You're with one of the big US office suites today and want your data in Germany. Migration runs via IMAP sync, contacts and calendars via export/import. Nothing new to learn — Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird keep working as before.
Solo, Pro or Family
You want the privacy standard of the German privacy mail providers — but with your own domain, calendar and contact sync at no extra charge, and a ticket answered by an engineer.
What sets us apart
CalDAV and CardDAV for calendars, contacts and tasks — all included, no extra charge. Some privacy mail providers only offer that as a paid extra. Here it's standard.
Mailbox contents live on encrypted storage, of course. But traffic and connection logs stay fleetingly in RAM — what's never stored persistently, nobody can mine. That's not marketing copy, that's a technical default.
On plans from Family up, a .de domain is part of the price. That alone is worth ~€10–15/year at most domain registrars. Here: no extra charge, no hide-and-seek.
One of the underrated features: shared calendars for the whole family, the club board or the team. Works natively on iPhone and Android. A core feature from the Family plan up.
You manage your mailboxes yourself — a dedicated UI, kept simple. Create, set passwords, aliases, forwarding, out-of-office. All without a server console, without SSH nonsense.
Solo and Pro are billed every six months, because the bookkeeping for €1.99/month would otherwise cost more than the margin. If you're unhappy after 30 days, you get the full amount back — no debate.
Setup
Choose the right plan in the customer center — Solo, Pro, Family, Team, Club or Business. Solo/Pro are billed every six months, the rest monthly. Once payment is in, we review the order manually and typically set up your mailbox within 24 hours.
Already have a domain? Keep it — we connect it. Need a new one? Included from the Family plan up (one .de). We search, register, set it up.
We give you the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC values. Enter them at your domain registrar — we help with guides. If your domain is registered with us, we do it ourselves.
In the domain admin web UI: enter mailbox address, password, quota. Aliases and catchall live there too. Multiple mailboxes: one click per address.
On most smartphones, email + password is enough — auto-discovery finds the server settings. Otherwise: IMAP/SMTP details are in our knowledge base, with setup guides for the most common mail clients.
Two ways: (a) You use the built-in IMAP migration tool in the mailbox backend yourself — enter your credentials at the old provider, the sync runs in the background. That's free and covers most standard providers. (b) You let us handle the complete migration — billed by effort, with a transparent estimate up front. We always assist with the DNS switch on request: we look at the existing MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, plan the change with you and verify after the switch that nothing gets lost.
Two ways: a free IMAP migration tool in the mailbox backend for self-service — or we take over the complete migration as a paid option billed by effort. Either way, we assist with the DNS switch on request, so no mail gets lost when you change providers.
