What is this?
What is a Dedicated Server here — and when do you pick one?
A Dedicated Server is a physical machine in the Dell OptiPlex Micro format (~1.2 liters, 35-65 W) in our rack in Düsseldorf. You get it exclusively — no hypervisor in between, no noisy neighbors, no VM overhead. Login via SSH, your choice of AlmaLinux 10, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian 13, root from minute one. The setup is unmanaged — you administer the box yourself, we only take care of hardware and network.
It makes sense when you need bare-metal performance without paying for the enterprise specs of a classic rack server. For game servers (Minecraft, Factorio, Palworld, ARK), for self-hosted tools (private Mailcow, Vaultwarden, Gitea, Forgejo, Nextcloud power users), as a CI/build runner for GitHub Actions, as a VPN endpoint or as an off-site outpost of your home network.
Not a good fit for e-commerce production, for databases with compliance requirements, or for anything where a single machine failing directly costs revenue. There's no ECC, no RAID, no cluster failover here. These machines fly solo. If you need redundancy: rent two Dedicated Servers and replicate yourself.

Plesk editions
Add Plesk if you need it — three editions to choose from.
By default, the Dedicated Server ships without Plesk — we don't want to inflate the entry price artificially. If you need Plesk, you book one of the three editions on top. Switch between editions anytime in the customer portal.
On Dedicated Servers, Plesk is not part of the plan. Book the edition you need separately — switch anytime. Note: if you want Plesk Web Admin (the smallest edition) anyway, Plesk vServer may be the better product — there, Web Admin is already included in the plan.

Real bare metal, not a slice of a VM
You get the physical machine — no virtualization layer, no shared resources, no noisy-neighbor problem. The CPU and RAM you see are exclusively yours. Plus: root access. Classic VPS products don't give you that.
OS reinstall & hands-on by us
If the machine no longer boots, the OS is bricked or you want a different distro: we reinstall, flat €25 per reinstall. Manual interventions (boot repair, BIOS settings, network debugging) are billed at €25 per 15 minutes. Sounds strict, but it's fair — it keeps the entry price predictable, and we can step in immediately when something is genuinely broken.

Three Linux distributions to choose from, all long-term support: AlmaLinux 10, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian 13. We do a clean install at provisioning, you get root and take over from the first login. No Windows, no custom ISOs — we offer exactly the three distros we can patch and keep stable ourselves.
One dedicated IPv4 address included
Every Dedicated Server gets its own public IPv4 address. Reverse DNS freely configurable in the customer portal. Additional IPv4 addresses available for €2/month each, subject to availability.
1 Gbit uplink with fair use
Every server sits on a shared 1 Gbit uplink. Bandwidth is not guaranteed exclusive — for normal load (web, mail, game servers) that's plenty. 5 TB of traffic per month are included; every additional TB is billed at a fair €1.50. No throttling, no surprise invoice beyond that rate.
Plesk license as an optional add-on
If bare Linux configuration isn't your thing: Plesk comes in three editions — Web Admin (€14.29/month, 10 domains), Web Pro (€25.49/month, 30 domains, subscription/account management) or Web Host (€59.99/month, unlimited domains, reseller management). Plesk is not part of the plan price by default — you book what you actually need. Switch anytime in the customer portal.
5 TB traffic included, clear costs beyond that
5 TB of traffic per month are included in the price. Use more and you pay €1.50 per additional TB — no throttling, no surprise three-digit invoice. At the end of the month, we bill what was actually used.
Hardware swap within 24 h on failure
If the hardware fails (not your fault): we provide an identical machine, migrate your SSD or reinstall the OS on the replacement — free of charge. Within 24 hours of the defect ticket at the latest. Manual interventions outside a warranty case (reinstall, boot repair, config help) are billable: €25 per 15 minutes, reinstall flat €25 — see the add-on table.

What Dedicated Servers are not.
So it's clear what Dedicated Servers do and don't do:
- ! No ECC RAM. These machines come from business desktop lines, not server-grade gear. If ECC is mandatory for your use case (database production, research, compliance), open a ticket — we'll check whether a custom setup is the better route.
- ! No RAID. One SSD per machine. SSD failure = data loss unless you replicate yourself. Backups are your job (e.g. to PBS or storageDRIVE).
- ! No hardware SLA with response times. We swap failed hardware within 24 h — in practice usually faster, but we don't put an hourly window in writing. If you need one: custom setup on request.
- ! No cluster, no failover. One machine, one single point of failure. For redundancy: rent two Dedicated Servers and replicate yourself, or build your architecture on cloud products.
- ! No service monitoring by us. We watch hardware and network, not your services — only you know what runs on the machine. Application monitoring (web-server up checks, cron heartbeats, etc.) is your job. Tools like Uptime Kuma run fine on the same server.
- ! 1 Gbit uplink, shared. 5 TB of traffic included, every additional TB for €1.50. If you plan sustained multi-gigabit streaming or massive downloads: please ask first.
Who uses this

Game-server hosts
You run Minecraft servers for the community, a Factorio multiplayer, a Palworld server. You need dedicated CPU power, a low-latency uplink, root access for mods. The Power plan (i7-8700 with 12 threads) is your sweet spot.
Self-hosters and privacy tinkerers
You run Vaultwarden, Gitea/Forgejo, private Mailcow, Nextcloud, Bitwarden, Jellyfin, the *arr stack. You need root, you need bandwidth, you want no cloud lock-in. The Pro or Power plan covers that.
Build runners / CI
GitHub Actions runners with constant build output, container registry cache, Docker builds. The Power plan (i7-8700 with 12 threads) parallelizes properly and runs 24/7 without throttling.
VPN endpoint with a static IP
WireGuard, OpenVPN or a ZeroTier controller — when you need a fixed dial-in point with dedicated hardware and a static IPv4 in Germany (say, for home office via your machine at home, a distributed team or your own mesh VPN). The Start plan (i3-8100T) is plenty here — low power draw, full feature set.
Home-cloud replacement / NAS extension
You want your home Synology safely reachable from the internet, or an off-site backup point. The Max plan (64 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD) has enough room for a proper backup pipeline.
Small company with its own stack
You run your own application stack (Node.js, Django, Rails) or a database replica. A Dedicated Server fits when one machine failing doesn't directly cost revenue. For production-critical workloads with ECC and RAID: custom setup on request.

Pick a plan, pick an OS
Order in the customer portal. You choose Start / Pro / Power / Max and tell us which Linux to preinstall — AlmaLinux 10, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian 13. Default is Debian 13.

Machine provisioned, OS installed
We activate a machine from stock, install your chosen OS, assign the IPv4 address and configure SSH access. Usually within 24 hours — if it's urgent, open a ticket beforehand and we'll prioritize.

Credentials via ticket
You receive via ticket: SSH access, root password, IPv4 address. On first login: change the password right away and add your SSH key. If you lock yourself out of the server, open a ticket — the hands-on rate (€25/15 min) applies.

Build your own configuration
From here on, the machine is yours. Install packages, configure services, point domains, set up the firewall. Questions go through the ticket system — we answer, but we don't configure applications for you (that's what unmanaged means).

Optional: activate Plesk later
If you decide later that you want a hosting panel after all: add a Plesk license in the customer portal (Web Admin, Pro or Host — see the editions table) and we install it remotely. Existing data stays in place.
Frequently asked questions
Are these really dedicated machines, or VMs?
Real bare metal. Physical Dell OptiPlex Micro machines, one per customer. No hypervisor, no virtualization. The CPU, RAM and SSD you see are exclusively yours.
Why Dell OptiPlex Micro instead of rack servers?
Form factor. These mini PCs (~1.2 liters, 35-65 W) use a fraction of the power of a 1U rack server, without limiting CPU performance for the target workloads (gaming, self-hosting, CI). We can pack them densely and save energy where it actually matters.
What does “no ECC, no RAID” mean in practice?
ECC protects against bit flips in RAM (statistically ~1 bit per GB per month). For web/game/mail you'll never notice — for database workloads it's critical. RAID protects against SSD failure — here there's one SSD per machine, and if it dies, everything on it is gone. You either back up your data elsewhere or replicate across two Dedicated Servers. For non-critical workloads: no show-stopper. For production setups with ECC/RAID: open a ticket and we'll work out the right custom setup.
How fast is the hardware swap?
Usually within 4-12 hours, guaranteed within 24 h at the latest. We keep spare hardware in the same rack. SSD failure: new SSD in, OS reinstalled (or restored from backup — backups are your job). Board/CPU failure: identical machine, your SSD moves over.
Can I connect several Dedicated Servers into a cluster?
Yes. On request we put several machines into the same VLAN so they talk to each other privately without touching the public internet. Cluster logic (Pacemaker, Patroni, Keepalived, etc.) is yours to set up — we deliver the hardware base.
What about backups?
Not included. With bare metal, backups are on the customer — that's you. Three routes: (1) USB-C SSD as an add-on directly on the server (1-8 TB, from €9/month, see the add-on table). (2) Proxmox Backup Server as a backup target in Nuremberg/Falkenstein. (3) storageDRIVE for file backups. The options combine well — local SSD plus off-site PBS is a proven setup.
What does hands-on by you cost?
When we have to step in manually — boot repair, configuration help, network debugging from our side, manual hardware swap outside a warranty case — we bill €25 per started 15 minutes. Business hours Mon-Fri 8 am-6 pm. Outside business hours by arrangement only. An OS reinstall by us costs a flat €25. We keep physical server access (remote KVM, BIOS) on our side — so we can intervene immediately when something is genuinely broken, instead of giving you a permanent backdoor that can eventually get hacked.
Which OS can I install?
Three Linux distributions: AlmaLinux 10, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Debian 13. All three are long-term-support releases we know and have tested on our hardware. No Windows, no custom ISOs — we offer exactly what we can provision cleanly. If you explicitly need a different distribution, open a ticket before ordering.
How does traffic work?
1 Gbit shared uplink, fair use of 5 TB traffic per month. Enough for ~95% of use cases (game servers, self-hosting, CI). If you consistently go over, we'll get in touch — either you reduce, or each additional TB costs €1.50, same as everywhere else.
Do I get a fixed IPv4?
Yes, one dedicated public IPv4 per server is included. Reverse DNS freely configurable in the customer portal. Additional IPv4 addresses cost €2/month each, subject to availability. IPv6 is not offered on this product.
Do I get server access via KVM or IPMI?
No. You work exclusively via SSH on the running machine. That's deliberate: every server has an external remote-KVM module attached, but it stays under our control — we only use it on hardware failure or when you explicitly book a reinstall. That way there's no additional remote-maintenance backdoor permanently reachable from outside. If you lock yourself out, open a ticket: reinstall flat €25, otherwise hands-on billed by time.
